patience is a part of this, hadn’t thought of it that way before

Published 27 days ago • 2 min read

hey, melon ball.

when i set out to write yesterday’s email, it was because i read THIS, and it was too divinely timed not to share

but once i got rolling on the backstory, per usual i couldn’t contain myself :)

to refresh your mem… the card was “impatience,” and the convo ran deep

and that night i got a notification that “the creative act” by rick rubin was again ready for me to borrow from my online library

it’s a book i had meant to read for ages, and actually made the decision to make it happen back in september

there had been a long wait for it then, and when it finally came available, i didn’t have a ton of free time to read with my eyes, so i enjoyed the stuffing outta what i could, but at the end of the 14-day borrowing window, i had made it exactly 30% of the way through

and it was to be another several months waiting period to get it again

well, the wait was finally over, and when i clicked “borrow” it auto-opened up to the last page read, which — after completing the thought from the previous page, said this:

Patience is required for the nuanced development of your craft.

i’m including screenshots of the two pages around patience for you to check out yourself. as i was reading, the following coalesced for me:

patience is part of our path of ease. if we truly seek ease, we must embrace patience + allow it to liberate us from all the hustle that keeps us entrenched in the hard

and believe me, it’s easier to say than do, especially when the reason impatience crashes the party is due to real, real-world needs like money + time

the point is that it’s a practice

patience is a practice

presence, as i often say, is a practice

this intuition-driven decisionmaking lifestyle + bizstyle is a practice

so if you’re waiting for the magical end destination, i’m not the one to tell you about it

i’m here to help you make magic of the moments along the way, to cultivate a practice of strong strategy + free flow that lets you be the magic in motion you truly are (and lets the clients who will love you for it find you)

if you’re called to work with me, here are two ways (with limited time savings for you!)

may your heart be patient + your path be easeful

xxoo, cc

ps: here's yesterday's email, for context if you missed it!

hey, bloom. over on IG i’ve been making a weekly post called winsday wednesday, where i invite you to share your, you guessed it, wins for the week it’s all about celebrating all-sized wins, and it’s important as i went to make the post today though, i just couldn’t do it. not the way i have been, anyway like i said… celebration is important honoring your wins helps fuel you in all you do. and you, sweet bloom, are worthy of so much celebration AND… i can’t stop thinking of the humans who’ve...

hello, rhubarb. whether you read this as a granting of permission or a celebration of self, here’s to a month dedicated to saying YES… YES to putting yourself on your own damn list, unapologetically YES to trusting yourself at LEAST as much as you trust everyone else (and having your own freaking back, always) YES to owning your wants + honoring the wisdom they hold… free of guilt + shame YES to living in SACRED AWE — of yourself, of this life, and of all the beauty + magic around you YES to...

hey, frangipane. back in my middle school french teacher days, rightabout now i’d be getting ready to guide my students in saying au revoir to avril and bonjour to mai :) i love to mark time in big + little ways, because otherwise it, as they say, flies by the other day on IG i mentioned what i call the “now + later effect” of self-care + presence practices, where you get the benefit of doing it now and then also later if — when you talk about it, share about it, or otherwise reflect on it,...
